Fear the Walking Dead update and SPOILERS

The Walking Dead spinoff has a name - Fear the Walking Dead. AMC ordered 2 seasons - 6 episodes for the first season, not known for the second.

Who's looking forward to this? I'm excited to see what happened in other parts of the country. Fear the Walking Dead will take place in Los Angeles and will follow a family in the early days of the apocalypse. The spin-off will have nothing to do with the comic books.

Filming continues in April and season one will air this summer.

SPOILER

The new series will begin before the epidemic takes hold. We'll meet the family in their normal lives, rather than post apocalyptic as in The Walking Dead, and only we (the audience) will know that the end is coming very soon.

From bleedingcool.com:
Teachers Madison and Travis, and their older teenage children, Alicia and Ian, Travis’ ex Liza and their teenage son Christopher, in a family about to break apart. Drugs, illness, self-harm, set in Los Angeles, this is not so much a nuclear family as a dirty bomb. Rick’s family were torn apart, this family are there from the beginning.

The X-Files is back! Look for Mulder and Scully back on the small screen.

They're back!

Mulder and Scully will grace our television screens for a 6 episode limited series.

Both Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are slated to return.

From Fox Network:

“THE X-FILES” RETURNS TO FOX

Emmy Award-winning Pop Culture Phenomenon
From Chris Carter Is Back as Six-Episode Event Series

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to Reprise Their Roles as
FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully

Thirteen years after the original series run, FOX has ordered the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES, a thrilling, six-episode event series which will be helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.

The announcement was made today by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group and Chris Carter, creator and executive producer of THE X-FILES. Production on THE X-FILES event series is set to begin in summer 2015. Further details remain under wraps and will be announced at a later date.

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” said Carter. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

“We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of THE X-FILES – one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers – and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again,” remarked Newman and Walden. “THE X-FILES was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture – yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as THE X-FILES, and we’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for.”
THE X-FILES originally premiered in September 1993.  Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully (Anderson) and Mulder (Duchovny) as they investigate unexplained cases – “X-Files” – for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, THE X-FILES is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter.

Sasha Alexander on Shameless episode 5x09

Sasha Alexander was in an episode of Shameless on Showtime. Her character on the show is Lip's professor, and may I say she was very hot. I love seeing her in a completely different role than Maura Isles. (Sasha stars on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles.)

Watch Sasha's scenes in the video below:

Sorry, YouTube took it down. I had a feeling that might happen, since I showed all of her scenes.

Disappointed in CSI: Cyber

I so wanted to like CSI: Cyber. That's why after not being impressed with the pilot I gave it another chance. Nope. It's still not doing it for me.

I really like Patricia Arquette. She's part of why I wanted to like it so much. But her character has some of the worst dialogue you can imagine. She constantly reiterates what's already been explained... and badly. I don't blame her, it's the writing that's so atrocious even an Academy Award winning actress can't save it.

Arquette's character has a cool way of reading people. It's not unique, but lets face it, in todays television how many things are actually unique. The problem with it in this show is it feels so forced. "Oh we need her to use her 'powers' this episode so lets pick the one scene for it to happen." Actually that's how the entire show feels - forced. It's like writers had a list of what they need to put in it and by golly they were going to make sure everything on that list got in there.

When I watch Criminal Minds I believe Penelope. (The BAU's tech aka cyber guru.) I'm not doubting how something is done or how she finds those facts so quickly. It may not be "real life" accurate but I don't care. I believe her. I don't believe anything in CSI: Cyber. I'm constantly thinking, "Can that be done? They made that up. No way that happens that way." The answer to my questions or whether I'm right or wrong doesn't matter. It's the point that I'm taken out of the drama of the show. My suspension of disbelief is ruined. I'm not sure if it's the writing, the acting, the directing... probably all of the above.
Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds)

There's also no co-star that captures my attention. On Criminal Minds I love Penelope and Spencer. On CSI I love Julie and Greg. On CSI: Cyber...

CSI: Cyber needs a complete overhaul, which I'm sure will never happen.

In the virtual world of Star Trek Online, on Vulcan you will now find a statue of Spock with the words "Live Long and Prosper." This tribute to Leonard Nimoy is up less then a week after his death. It's reported that the day of his passing players flocked to Vulcan to pay their respects.

Check out what happens when Disney characters surprise shoppers in a mall. So fun.

I was amazed at the emotion this brought out in me. Reading the original comments on Facebook I found I wasn't alone. Proves we're all young at heart.
